Le PACKET

Le packet est un mode très utile qui s'apparente au réseau Internet, mais la présentation n'est pas du tout la même, il est assez facile à mettre en œuvre. Il faut disposer d'un ordinateur personnel ou bien (cela se fait encore) d'un Minitel. Lorsque j'ai commencé, j'ai bien eu du mal à trouver un logiciel qui pouvait fonctionner avec mon matériel. J'ai dû faire appel aux radioamateurs programmeurs. Mais rassurez vous, en général tout est beaucoup plus simple. L'interface qui décode les trames packet est appelé TNC ( Terminal Onde Contrôleur ) . Il est difficile de commencer cette activité parce-que les logiciels doivent fonctionner avec divers protocoles ( Mode KISS, TFPCX...). J'ai commencé avec GP, logiciel sous DOS très convivial mais un peu trop simple pour ceux qui veulent approfondir le sujet et puis j'ai utilisé le logiciel TSTHOST qui est très complet, sous DOS et qui permet de laisser l'ordinateur travailler tout seul ( récupérer les listes de messages périodiquement...). A ce jour, j'utilise pour mes connections, le logiciel GP, parce je n'entends pas de BBS en direct et le TNC Kantronics Packet Communicator 3 . Pour trafiquer sur le réseau packet, il faut se connecter à un Node ou à une BBS. Pour tout renseignement complémentaire, je vous conseille de contacter F4TNKqui est un des grands connaisseurs de cette activité qui travaille avec acharnement sur les vitesses de transfert, et les logiciels.
